Several months ago Loren asked me to write a guest (celebrity) post for the Manufacturing Toolbox about the content center. Several pokes, tweets, and cold shoulders later I’ve finally gotten it together. We both thought this would be a great topic of discussion as the content center is so powerful and yet often underutilized. I had a chance to sit down with some of our Inventor developers and gathered what I have broken up into a Content Center Trilogy, except unlike most other Trilogies they won’t get worse and then awful by Part three! (sorry Michael J. Fox)
I wanted to breakdown what it takes to edit Content Center Components, change properties and families, and ultimately publish your own Components. Configuring the content center is really quite simple once you create a custom library. In Part 1 of the video series I went through the differences between ADMS and Desktop Content and then how to create a custom Library.
Stay tuned later this week for parts 2 & 3 which will cover: Editing the Family Tables and Family Properties, Authoring Content to the Content Center, and Flying Skateboards! In the meantime follow me @Jamie_Scherer and thanks again to LW for letting me contribute to the MFG Toolbox! Have a great week!
