It is pretty common knowledge that Autodesk Vault Professional 2012 has integrations with a boat-load of Autodesk design, visualization and simulation tools. But, not as many people know about the integrations Vault Professional has with other CAD platforms. Namely ProEngineer and SolidWorks.
Over the past few years, I have posted some videos related to the functionality of Vault with SolidWorks (as that was my background before joining Autodesk in 2008). Here are links to the videos I made for the integrations with SolidWorks 2009 and SolidWorks 2010.
Autodesk has also released an integration for Vault Professional 2012 with SolidWorks 2011. I recently tried it out and made a quick video (sorry for using the same dataset).
I know it is a brief overview, but I hope it gives you a good idea of how you can use Autodesk Vault to manage your SolidWorks data. You know, as you transition to Inventor <grin>.
